The Hunna - Live Review

THE HUNNA AT RESCUE ROOMS HALLOWEEN 2023

On this cold Autumnal evening, Nottingham was ready for The Hunna! Rescue Rooms was sold out - 450 people crammed into their sweaty yet wonderful main room, even the balcony - which we haven’t seen open for literally years, was open and chocca !

We’ve followed these guys for such a long time - they have become a part of our story and that story has passed through the Hush family. There’s nothing tangible about it, but The Hunna, well they’re special.

The band came onto stage to The 1975 track “Love It If We Made It” and judging by the packed room and rapturous applause, The Hunna have officially made it

In full spirit, 80% of the crowd were dressed up - which created an extra special and electric atmosphere, it was Halloween and everyone was excited! Add to that all of the guys taking their places on stage in skeleton onesies, and this show already felt like a “moment” before they even struck a chord.

The hit of the set was, understandably, “She’s Casual” which they did an emotional break down and crowd participation to, and they mixed it in with “Babe Can I Call” which added a really cool twist. Another emosh moment was their acoustic performance of “Lover” which was really so special and moving. Final moment worth a mention - although this entire show was a real treat - there were mosh pits! Like full on, wall to wall, people going crazy - and we were totally there for it! “Can’t Break What’s Broken” really bought some energy to the set and the crowd, and was the perfect addition to the ebb and flow of the performance.

We could see The Hunna every week and never tire of them. If you haven’t heard them…where have you been? Their latest, self titled album came out last year, and they are continuing their tour around the UK for another two weeks - not sure if you’ll find tickets though! These boys are highly sought.
