Wild Daughter - New Music

WILD DAUGHTER / SHARE NEW SINGLE
CYANIDE’ / ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM
INTERNAL LITTER

Garage kink dominators Wild Daughter have shared their new single, ‘Cyanide’. The track is the first to be taken from their newly announced debut album Internal Litter, out on December 2nd.

With lysergic vocals set atop an undulating blend of drum machine, synth and guitar, ‘Cyanide’ is an infectious and driving slice of warped, leather-clad electro-sleaze evoking dark hedonism and introspection in equal measure.

The track is the first taste of the band’s debut album, an eclectic journey exploring solitude, addiction, magick and transcendence, conceived in a time of reflection and uncertainty. With members James Jeanette Main and Stuart Mckenzie unable to meet physically, the pair bounced ideas together from afar, with Mckenzie sending the bare bone melodies and Main adding lyrics inspired by reflections on the past, the world in flux and hope for the future, before fleshing out the record in the studio with producers John Gosling (Mekon, Psychic TV, Zos-Kia, Jiz) and Jim Whelan (Hit By Rock, 23 Skidoo, Sugardog).

A mesmerising confluence of sonic and visual art, Wild Daughter’s shows are unique experiences not to be missed: an immersive meeting of leather, phallic sculpture and uninhibited musical extravagance. The band will share a live preview of their upcoming album with an exclusive show at London’s Electrowerkz on September 26th, following a support slot for Roisin Murphy at Brixton’s O2 Academy on September 19th.

Following the Electrowerkz show (September 27th), Internal Litter will be available to purchase exclusively on Bandcamp, ahead of being released on all digital platforms on December 2nd, with physical copies available from the end of January.

Wild Daughter embody the soul of The Backstreet (the London leather bar) as an icon of queer desire - where they were unleashed for a one-night-only event in 2018. This queer desire never only survives - it thrives. Wild Daughter have fed (and bred) their black leather heart with raucous performances at the ICA London, and most recently in support for Primal Scream’s ‘Maximum Rock and Roll’ tour (UK dates), and releases and shows have been met with widespread acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, i-D, Nowness, Dazed and more.
