Sleeping With Sirens - Album Review

SLEEPING WITH SIRENS / NEW ALBUM COMPLETE COLLAPSE / REVIEW

Today SWS have released Complete Collapse in it’s entirety, after drip feeding five singles leading up to the full album. Fans of the band can never know exactly what to expect from a Sirens album, as they - sticking within the realms (ish) of their musical pocket, do tend to move with the winds of change slightly from record to record, so this prelude gave us all a great insight into what was coming. ‘Bloody Knuckles’ was a great introduction to Complete Collapse, sounding like a subtle revisit to Sleeping With Sirens records of the past.

This is Sleeping With Sirens seventh full length album, hitting onto the scene in 2010, they’ve established a truly devoted fanbase allowing them to travel the world and play to large enthusiastic crowds.

Tracks that stood out for us were ‘Family Tree’ and ‘Mr Nice Guy’ - not because they’re better than the other songs particularly (or worse!) but they’ve got a different groove, and we have always appreciated how Sirens do that on a record - the masters of mixing it up.

Kinda like what Paramore did with After Laughter Kellin is a talent at packaging painful, deep and dark lyrics with a beautiful and upbeat melody, a perfect contradiction. With feels of past SWS records, The Refused, kinda Dancey type beats and some heartfelt tracks too, this album is another solid chapter to the collage of Sleeping With Sirens.

Along with the full record, Sirens this morning released a new video for ‘Be Happy’, check it out below.
