Seratones announce new single, album & Tour!

Shreveport, Louisiana’s SERATONES are delighted to announce the ‘POWER Tour’—a run of Nov/Dec 2019 headline tour dates throughout the UK and EU, including a London appearance at Camden Assembly on 21st November 2019 (see below for full listings).

Alongside the news, the band are streaming their new single ‘Sad Boi’, the latest track to be taken from their forthcoming new album POWER, produced by Cage The Elephant’s Bradley Shultz. The record will be their first in over 3 years, and is set for release on 23rd August 2019 via New West Records.

A further foray into their now-signature blend of soul, funk and punk, ‘Sad Boi’ is a heady mix of distorted basslines, handclaps, and Petshop Boys-inspired vocals that trips its way through genres effortlessly.

Commenting on the single, front woman A.J Haynes says: “I’m both slightly annoyed and intrigued by this archetypal wandering, ecstatic melancholy. I say ‘boi’ to speak to anyone who identifies as masculine of centre, binaries be damned. The “norm” of toxic masculinity erases other experiences while, feeding its own volatility, creates a space in which no one is safe or stable. Perhaps this is why I find myself drawn to anyone who is the polar opposite of that hyper-masculine machismo bullshit. Hence, my ode to the Sad Boi. I absolutely have a history of dating folks who had despondent tendencies. After all, I too like Bukowski and Baudelaire.”

On new album POWER, Haynes showcases how vulnerability can be powerful, as her songs explore her years fighting for reproductive rights and serving as a counselor at one of Louisiana’s last remaining abortion providers, her advocacy for racial equality, her struggles to adapt and overcome, her love of poetry, and much more. POWER is released 23rd August 2019 via New West Records!
