Punk Rock Factory - New… Cover Music
October 14, 2024PUNK POWERHOUSES PUNK ROCK FACTORY SHARE THEIR TAKE ON THE B*WITCHED SMASH ‘C’EST LA VIE’ THE FIRST SINGLE FROM THE NEW ALBUM ‘ALL HANDS ON DECK’, OUT FEBRUARY 14TH
Welsh pop-punk heroes Punk Rock Factory have become a surprise sensation, their supersonic hi-octane takes on throwbacks favourites like ‘Let It Go’, the ‘Power Rangers’ theme and ‘Mamma Mia’ making them a smash hit at Download, Bloodstock and Slam Dunk festivals as well as earning 750,000 followers at TikTok. Now Punk Rock Factory put the pedal to the metal as they power into the biggest moment of their rise to date.
Today they share their riotous take on the B*Witched smash ‘C’est La Vie’ ahead of their new album ‘All Hands On Deck’ which follows on February 14th. The band are currently in the midst of a huge headline tour which will see them bring the party to a total of 30,000 fans, with audiences mixing up all ages from kids through to pensioners. Listen HERE.
‘C’est La Vie’ shows why the quartet have engaged such an enthusiastic following. They let rip with a fireball of melody and slamming punk energy as they turn the ‘90s mega hit into an irresistible shout-along punk anthem.
You might not be able to do an Irish jig to it, but it already has B*Witched’s seal of approval. As Edele Lynch enthuses, “It’s always great to hear other artists cover our songs especially in a different genre - the new version is a lot of fun and I love a bit of pop punk myself.”
Vocalist/guitarist Peej says, “This is the first single from our new album ‘All Hands On Deck’ which is rammed full of some of the biggest and best smash hits from the ‘90’s. The album was produced by Phil Gornell at Steel City Studios in Sheffield, then mixed and mastered by Sam Guaiana. We’re so stoked with how it came out! Definitely our favourite album yet!
The video was filmed at Cardiff skatepark, Spit & Sawdust, and it was great to have skaters of all ages down for the day to get involved. Everyone seemed to have a blast and we couldn’t be happier with how the new video looks.”
‘C’est La Vie’ sets the tone for ‘All Hands On Deck’, a wild, supercharged tongue-in-cheek tribute to some of the most beloved hits of the ‘90s. The band invited fans - nicknamed The Sausage Army - to choose what songs should be included and picked a set of wall-to-wall bangers. The band duly delivered, bringing a rush of adrenaline and a dopamine hit to the likes of Take That’s ‘Back For Good’, S Club 7’s ‘Bring It All Back’ and Ricky Martin’s ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’.
Completed by Benj (bass, vocals), Ryan (guitar) and Kob (drums, vocals), Punk Rock Factory formed in 2014 with the simple goal of just having some fun. But things snowballed far bigger than they could’ve ever imagined, picking up some early traction before they went globally viral during lockdown. They’ve dropped several albums along the way, all honing in on a particular topic, such as musical showstoppers (‘It’s Just A Stage We’re Going Through’), kids TV themes (‘Masters of the Uniwurst’) and emo/punk/nu-metal favourites (‘Scene This?’). Their rise has also seen them collaborate with the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Bowling For Soup and Ice Nine Kills, and even Jessica Darrow, the voice of Luisa Madrigal in Disney’s ‘Encanto’.
There’s a DIY aspect to everything the band do, recording, mixing and filming everything themselves in their studio, The Sausage Factory. It’s no flash-in-the-pan either - the band became their full-time jobs three years ago and their plans already take them deep into 2025.
‘All Hands On Deck’ is available to pre-order / pre-save HERE. There are a selection of striking vinyl formats available, as well as tour editions on CD and vinyl which will add a commemorative tour poster and a selection of live tracks.
Punk Rock Factory have completed the first five packed shows of their current ‘Stick To The Covers ‘24’ headline tour. It continues with the following dates, with very limited tickets for some shows still available HERE. They are also confirmed to play nine shows across Germany and The Netherlands next March.
