LIOTTA SEOUL Reveal Video For New Single ‘Disgusting’ Out Now /German Alt-Rock Trio’s New Album WORSE Released 4th November 2022 via KROD Records

Koblenz, Germany alt-rock trio LIOTTA SEOUL are pleased to reveal the video for their new single ‘Disgusting’ which is out now on all good digital service providers, already crashing onto Spotify’s All New Rock and Alternative Noise playlists. The track is taken from their forthcoming new album WORSE, which will be released on 4th November 2022 via KROD Records. The record is available to preorder on vinyl now: https://liottaseoul.com/shop/ Setting out their stall as a well-oiled video-content-generating machine, ‘Disgusting’ is the band’s third single and comes with a suitably repulsive yet strangely enticing music video. Gen Y and Z are known for their never ending cravings for non-stop sensory overload and newer-than-new video content, and LIOTTA SEOUL are only too pleased to oblige.

“The idea behind this song was, ‘What if we write a modern pop-song but with the instruments we actually use as a band?’,” explains front man Sven Int-Veen. “The first line that came to me was: ‘I’d like to piss my pants and leave it on for hours’ and I thought I needed to expand on that. The song is about what it would be like living far beyond societal norms and how disgusting we’d all behave if it was acceptable to collect food stains, eat gross food, never change clothes and just not take care of yourself in general. I’d love that world.” For some this might sound like a pretty standard weekend, but LIOTTA SEOUL’s lyrics are often more complex than a cursory surface reading might suggest. Whether you share their love for reckless abandonment is a different question, but in these times that are all about self-improvement and exhibiting a digital facade, we might just need a timely critique of external constraints, rules and expectations. “We don’t have to be high functioning and be perfect all the time,” say the band of the deeper meaning behind the song. “Whether or not you should hibernate in pissed pants remains to be seen…probably not, though.”

In terms of imagery the band translated the lyrics into a trashy, messy cavalcade of animations and scenes guaranteed to give you the ick. You’re going to be disgusted. Which is exactly what Sven, who plays in the band but is also a videographer, wanted: “The music video for this one is supposed to be super in your face and really gross. The cool thing is that we asked a bunch of artists that we’re friends with to contribute to this and got a lot of really cool stuff that is worth checking out.” Similar to their bespoke videos, the band have a range of extraordinary merch: they sell unique, one-of-a-kind up-cycled pieces exclusively at shows. Their drummer Nikolas embroiders them with blood, sweat and tears and makes one perfect piece at a time. They’re not just stylish but also great for the environment. What else is there to say but the world won’t get any cooler—it’ll just get worse. The band play an ever-expanding string of live dates in their native Germany over the upcoming months, kicking off this weekend in Wolfsburg.
