KATE KLEIN EXPLORES MESSY MISADVENTURES WITH THE NEW SINGLE ‘STUCK’

Kate Klein’s previous singles such as the electrifying ‘$erontinin pls’ have catapulted her to a wave of tastemaker discovery, including airplay from Jack Saunders at Radio 1 plus support from BBC Introducing and MTV. Now the London-based Italian artist powers forward with her latest single ‘STUCK’.

STUCK’ finds Kate’s larger-than-life voice brimming with attitude, charisma and self-deprecating humour as she confesses to the chaos that surrounds her life. It’s an experience that many of us have been through: waking up on the bathroom floor with a banging headache, a list of regrets, and being too scared to see what messages were sent last night. But Kate isn’t one for self-pity and ‘STUCK’ is ultimately an empowering statement - you know you need to make a change and you can make it happen. Its sound is the perfect complement for its theme, a whirlwind of spiky alt-pop edge laying the foundations for an explosive grunge-aesthetic hook that will instantly force its way into your memory.
Kate says, “‘STUCK’ is about deciding to run away from your problems, but your anxieties insist on following you.”
STUCK’ was solely written by Kate, who produced the track with Giovanni Bottoglia and Alessandro Fapanni. It was completed with mixing and mastering courtesy of Austin Seltzer (Royal & the Serpent, Maggie Lindemann, Demi Lovato).
Kate Klein writes songs informed by messy misadventures and anxious insecurities, but also of unexpected triumphs and surprise joys - the kind of authentic but contrasting experiences that encourages us all to accept our inner misfit. Life’s rollercoaster experiences don’t come from the same box, and her music is influenced by similarly diverse sounds from Avril Lavigne and Debbie Harry to Post Malone and blink-182. It’s an attention-grabbing, everything-all-at-once rush that will make her upcoming EP, ‘Love, War and Other Human Inventions’ an inspiringly existential experience.
Kate headed to Los Angeles after her early single releases to work with renowned collaborators such as Teddy Marquee (Dua Lipa, X Ambassadors), Stefano Moro (Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign) and Robert Cuttarella (Slash, Sting). It was an era that she found particularly inspiring, with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with top tier producers but also the ordinary struggle that comes with being an aspiring artist. She then returned to Europe in the wake of the pandemic, dropping thumping bangers such as ‘in my mind we’re all insane’ and ‘Milano sei Tossica’.
