Frank Turner - Live Review

Frank Turner / Rock City, Nottingham / 27th September 2022

Jam and Cream, Fish and Chips, Salt and Pepper, Frank Turner and Rock City, these are all things that just seem to fit together perfectly and we are here to focus on the latter. It’s show 2689 (!) and Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls have sold out Nottingham’s Rock City once again, if this place has a wall of fame Frank Turner’s name would almost certainly be written all over it.

This time around Turner is supporting latest album FTHC which marked a slightly heavier sound than previous albums, but irrespective of sound with Frank Turner you know you getting a sing song and a dance - because after all, we long for those “Four Simple Words.”

We could watch Frank at Rock City everyday and never not be in awe of the ease of which he can control a crowd and bring such joy to 2000 people. Smattering the set list with songs both old and new, this is Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls at their very best and there was even a place for the very special appearance of a certain rarely played fan favourite…(Thatcher Fucked the Kids - mind blown, life made!this is Rock City after all.

Frank Turner’s latest album FTHC is out now, and the ‘Frank Turner Live Show’ heads to Europe in November.
