Liverpool emo newcomers DECAY release single ‘New Again’

Ahead of debut EP Modern Conversation to be released on 5th July 2019 via Fox Records. Alongside the new single, the band are pleased to announce details of a special EP release show in their hometown of Liverpool at Sound Basement on 20th July 2019.

Their hometown of Liverpool is something that’s close to their hearts, and a solid grounding in the vibrant local music scene has shaped them into the musicians they are today, as frontman Danny Reposar explains: “Being surrounded by incredibly talented bands like Loathe, Antihero and Bitter Youth pushed us to try and make this record the biggest and best thing to come out of the Liverpool scene to date. Having so many talented friends is always a huge inspiration for us as a band.”

A poignant note of hope on a record that often deals with heavy themes, Reposar goes on to say of latest single ‘New Again’: “This is a complete re-record of the first single we put out with Fox Records—we felt the production of the original really didn’t do the song justice.

“‘New Again’ is technically a love song,” he continues, “however, it’s not about a person—it’s more about the feeling of finding someone new after going through a lot of heartbreak and bitterness. The line ‘you planted flowers in my skin’ is a nod at learning to trust someone and starting to ‘grow’ again. At its simplest level it’s a song about personal growth and learning to trust others around me.”
