Campbell/Jensen- New Music

Campbell/Jensen share their new single ’A Song by Vampires for Vampires’ and pre-orders for their debut album ‘Turtle Cottage’ are available HERE

‘A Song By Vampires For Vampires’ is an engagingly unconventional twist upon the love song. It sees Campbell / Jensendrawing parallels between a vampire’s nocturnal blood-sucking, life-draining quest for survival and how an intensely passionate relationship will conquer any challenges it faces on the way to long-lasting love. Despite the title, musically it’s definitely no horrorshow as Ashley Campbell’s sweetly sultry country croon is complemented by Thor Jenson’s soothing vocal harmonies and dual banjos. The song was both written and produced by the duo. Listen HERE.

Campbell/Jensen commented, “‘A Song By Vampires For Vampires’ started out as an inside joke between us, but it turned into a beautiful song about the eternal nature of love. When we love deeply, it’s as if time cannot touch us. A few moments spent in true connection can make us feel immortal.”

While Campbell / Jensen is a new project, its two members have a storied history spanning Americana, country, bluegrass, gypsy jazz and rock. Ashley Campbell first came to attention as a member of her father Glen Campbell’s band before embarking upon an acclaimed solo career, while Thor Jensen was a member of Quiet Life and toured as part of Hazmat Modine and in Stephane Wrembel’s band. They met when Ashley wanted to learn how to play the gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt that her dad had adored when she was a child, the tutor she found being Thor, who had only moved to Nashville the week before.

Some of their very first shows came supporting ‘Wichita Lineman’ legend Jimmy Webb in the summer of 2022, before they set-up an impromptu studio in Turtle Cottage, a quiet home-from-home on Mahee Island, near Comber in Northern Irelandthe following January. Their upcoming album was recorded during those sessions, and was named after the location in which it was crafted.

Campbell/Jensen will play a UK and Ireland headline tour next month, which includes a London show at St. Pancras Old Church. Since the tour was announced, they’ve already confirmed a second run of UK dates for next February. In addition, they’re also confirmed to perform alongside a host of Nashville musicians at the Songwriters in Paradise retreat in Cabo, Mexico which starts at the end of November.
