Out now on her own Welcome To Pariahville Records

British Indian rock artist Pryti has revealed a music video for her new single ‘Satellite’. The yearning track features on her recently released album ‘Searching for Now Lost in Again’. “One day I was feeling very much like I was stuck and everybody else was moving on and I was still trying to make it,” she says of the composition. “That night I started singing when I was getting ready for bed and I sang the chorus for Satellite in full, the next morning I could hear a chord progression and I went straight to my keyboard and played it that became the intro/ verse. Satellite is about dreams, what you long for in life and wondering if it will ever come to fruition.” The brooding music video sees multi-instrumentalist Pryti commanding a grand piano in an equally grand setting, whilst ruminating on her carefully crafted words.

‘Searching for Now Lost in Again’ also features recent single ‘Teardrops’, which has been spun on BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock and BBC Introducing regionally and “is about dealing with things you can’t change,” says Pryti, “feeling lost and letting it out, letting the Teardops fall. I’m Hindu and it was really nice to incorporate my faith into this song. Shani is Saturn the taskmaster who tests you and judges you on your actions and Shiva is the Hindu God.” ‘Searching for Now Lost in Again’ also features previously released singles ‘Wasteland’, which featured on BBC Radio 1’s Future Alternative with Nels Hylton and Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood with Alex Baker, - about saying goodbye to habits and thinking patterns or people that aren’t good for you, ‘Archive’ which deals with the things you hide from your own self and ‘Warning Sign’ - a track that says goodbye to toxic relationships which was written as the #MeToo movement was burgeoning.

Pryti has been obsessed with music for as long as she can remember, singing from the time she learned to speak, and playing piano from a very early age. But it was in her teens when she discovered her calling. “Linkin Park’s album Hybrid Theory is what got me into metal,” she shares, “I was 15 years old and didn’t fit in, and they opened the door to a world of metal and rock music.” It wasn’t long before she picked up guitar and started playing bass too. In university she pursued a degree in Music and Media Management, and would use those skills to start her own independent label. “I love the business side” she shares, “I wanted to start my own label and be in charge of my career since learning about the music industry.” Whilst Pryti’s earlier releases fully embraced the doom and heaviness of metal, her latest songs recorded with longtime producer Justin Hill (Sikth, Young Guns, Heart of a Coward), draw from that world while also incorporating more aesthetics from alternative pop, indie and electronica. “When I was recording my new music this past year,” she says, “it finally felt like something was changing. I have worked really hard to become a better vocalist, musician and songwriter. I really pushed myself to the point where it finally felt like I was progressing.”
