Liverpool’s REAL TERMS Reveal Folk-Rock Influenced New Single ‘Veil Is Thinner’ / Nov 2022 London + Manchester Dates Announced w/ Radiant Heart, 55 Deltic, Chew Magna

Liverpool experimental alt-pop trio REAL TERMS are pleased to reveal their new single ‘Veil Is Thinner’, set for release on 2nd November 2022 via renowned math-rock band Delta Sleep’s new label, Sofa Boy Records. Fresh from a support slot with Japanese math-rock band Tricot, the band will be playing two shows in London and Manchester this November alongside Radiant Heart, 55 Deltic, and Chew Magna, with tickets on sale now (see below for listings). Commenting on the track, the band say: “Everything’s a farce, everyone is lying, no one has values or integrity. It’s a cheery one. But, essentially it was a plea for powerful people to realise the damage they were doing and stand aside, and that’s now happened. So am I a prophet, or did this song somehow get through to those people and make them realise the game was up? It’s one of the two. Musically, we wanted this to be kind of a folk rock tune which also grooved hard and also had a big old riff at the end. So that’s what it is.”

The new track follows on from previously-released single ‘Frantically Wrong’ which is out now and picked up support from PROG Magazine, Birthday Cake For Breakfast, Dusty Organ, The Progressive Journal and more. Formed in 2017 following the dissolution of their previous incarnation, Vasco Da Gama, the trio’s intention with Real Terms was to take the intricate, staccato, highly rhythmic best of their old sound and transcend what they saw as the limitations of the math-rock genre, injecting their material with a dose of pop songwriting structure and melody. The result was their well-received debut 2020 EP Housework, produced by David Berger (Outfit), which saw them marked out as ones to watch by PROG Magazine, Birthday Cake For Breakfast, The Math Rock Times, and Bido Lito Magazine, and appear on Alpha Male Tea Party’s The Long Drive Home podcast.

Whilst the pandemic put paid to live plans for a brief spell, over the years they’ve shared the stage with some of the biggest names and brightest newcomers from the experimental underground scene including TTNG, Tera Melos, Delta Sleep, Gender Roles, Cleft, Holding Patterns, Standards, FES, Alpha Male Tea Party and A Burial At Sea. Further new material and live dates will be revealed over the coming months. Real Terms Live Dates: Nov 8th - London - Shacklewell Arms (w/Radiant Heart, 55 Deltic)
Nov 9th - Manchester - Peer Hat (w/Chew Magna)
