Boston Manor announce special UK headline shows in December

They’ll be playing new album ‘Datura’ in full
and running a Toy drive for a local women’s shelter at each show

Blackpool’s Boston Manor have announced a clutch of special UK shows this December, including their first ever hometown headline show, at which they’ll be playing their new album ‘Datura’ in full each night. Support comes from Heriot (South) and Calva Louise (North). Tickets on sale now; see below for dates. Vocalist Henry Cox enthuses: “We’re so excited to be playing our first headline show in our hometown. Being from Blackpool is something we’re immensely proud of & something that takes centre stage in our art. We’re looking forward to being able to celebrate that down the road from where we had our first band practice & continue to write all of our records. At all of the shows we’re playing in December we’re going to be accepting Toy & cash donations for a local women’s shelter or women’s refuge charity in that town. We hope, with your help, to be able to deliver toys to vulnerable children who will be spending this Christmas in a strange place with very little; and to support these charities in the amazing work that they do.”

Currently on tour with Alexisonfire in Europe, having wowed UK crowds with cuts from ‘Datura’ on the UK leg and touring throughout the world in 2022, Boston Manor released their fourth album this month via SharpTone Records to critical and fan acclaim. ‘Datura’ is an album that pushes the limits and stretches the boundaries of Boston Manor more than ever before, musically, lyrically, thematically and conceptually. 2018’s ‘Welcome To The Neighbourhood’ and 2020’s ‘GLUE’ shifted the needle in terms of Boston Manor’s sound, incorporating synths into their framework and a heavy focus on atmosphere. Coming off the back of last year’s ‘Desperate Times, Desperate Pleasures’ EP, ‘Datura’ takes all that one step further. The first of two parts, this set of songs exists in the dim light between dusk and dawn. It’s a record you don’t just merely listen to, but one – from the moment the sinister opening strains of first song ‘Datura (dusk)’ begin – you actually inhabit and experience. It’s a record that envelops you, drags you into the dark shadows, leaves you cold, breathless, paranoid.
