FIELD MEDIC Faces A Reckoning On New Single ‘stained glass’ Out Now LISTEN NOW New Album grow your hair long if you’re wanting to see something that you can change Released 14th October 2022 Via Run For Cover Records

Taken from his forthcoming album grow your hair long if you’re wanting to see something that you can change released 14th October 2022 via Run For Cover Records, Field Medic has today released a third single, ‘stained glass’. The track finds the Los Angeles-based songwriter and musician, also known as Kevin Patrick Sullivan, reflecting on a crisis and concluding matter-of-factly, “this is a reckoning for my own stupidity.” On his fifth full-length, Sullivan completely reinvented his recording approach, relinquishing solitary control of his typical, self-described “full-time freestyle” bedroom recording process, and heading into the producer and multi-instrumentalist Gabe Goodman’s LA studio.

In particular, ‘stained glass’ is a shining showcase for steel guitarist Nick Levine (of Jodi) and drummer Nate Lich, who fleshed out arrangements across the album apart from four self-recorded and self-produced tracks. Speaking about the new track, Field Medic comments: “‘stained glass’ is about when something unbelievable & terrible has happened & the surreal nature of trying to process it while going about your day to day. Waking up every morning realising this is your new reality. All the colour has been drained out of the world. Processing the grief & replaying the events that lead to this moment over & over. Wondering what role you played in it happening. Oscillating between blaming the world & blaming yourself. Vacant in the eyes. Full body anxiety. Crisis.”
