Muttering - New Music

New EP ‘Soap Box’ set for release
on 4th March via Beth Shalom Records

Indie/alt-rock three-piece MUTTERING have announced the release of their new EP ‘Soap Box’, out 4th March via Beth Shalom Records, and released the title-track. The new track is very much of disappointment, of being at a loss. Singer and lyricist Chaz Bush wrestles with uncertainty and paranoia, trying to be a positive force but finding himself flailing.

“‘Soap Box’ is about feeling out of touch with the world, and being completely unsure of yourself. It’s about the constant worry and paranoia caused by our parallel online lives. Is it worth wading into the quagmire of opinions only to be swallowed up? Does my opinion count for anything? I want to be useful, but I don’t know how,” he contemplates. Despite Muttering’s optimistic outlook waning a little, the band have still been out there writing music amidst impending doom. They convened at guitarist and producer Tom Hill’s SE London Studio, The Bookhouse, to record the three tracks that make up the upcoming EP ‘Soap Box’, the follow up to last year’s debut ‘Don’t Think About It’, a collection of “songs for the end of the world”.

It’s the start of a busy year for Muttering who will also be hitting the road alongside alt-rockers Oversize and shoe-gazers Soot Sprite in March. Dates below.
