The Hunna - Live Review

THE HUNNA / ROCK CITY / 10TH NOVEMBER 2021

The Guardian once said that The Hunna were “identikit indie rockers … devoid of personality”… Having watched these guys since 2016, we can vehemently tell the guardian to GET FUCKED. Agreed this may not be to everyone’s taste, which is true of all music, art or even people, but objectively, you can’t argue, that The Hunna have true talent.

100  has to go down as one of the best debut albums of all time. Followed up by two equally emosh and jamming further records, each which stepped up the bands sound; with enough change to keep us interested- but not enough to lose the “hunna”… We think The Hunna have this shit down to a precise science.

From the very first second the band hit the stage the crowd was raging. It’s interesting to watch a band from the bottom up, we’ve seen the original fans stay with the band, growing and maturing together. The crowd tonight was a real mix of people, no overall dress theme like at some shows, a proper beautiful mixing-pot. The beauty of music shown in it’s ability to bring people together and unite them no matter their differences, love and joy were heavy presences in the room. You can feel the real and authentic connection of the guys when they’re on the stage too, after all this time, still just a group of friends that enjoy making noise together, this connection fuels their synchronal finesse blasting their true, clear and honed sound. Their live performance varies very little from the studio albums, they are a very talented group of musicians and Ryan’s vocals are just flawless, a recognisable voice belting truth and feeling.

It was a real treat to be at this show, if you wanna go see a live band and hear real music, not just be blasted with noise - The Hunna is totally the way to go.
