Live Review - The Hunna

The Hunna @ Rescue Rooms, Nottingham 22/09/16

For saying it was the first day of Autumn, you wouldn’t have bloody known it inside Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms as it felt like “festival season” was still in full swing. It would seem that nobody told The Hunna that Reading and Leeds marks the end of summer, the end of parties and the ethos of “letting go”, it’s the first week of University for many, people are supposed to be nailing down and studying… This foursome bought unrivaled charisma and energy to this sold out show on a cold Autumnal night.

Even with two support acts, you’d usually expect a crowd to need a few songs to fully immerse themselves into a headline band, to fully give their body and soul to the music, however The Hunna needed just seconds, the crowd instantly connecting with the music, lyrics and the band themselves. There seemingly wasn’t a single soul in the sold out room that could resist bouncing and singing along. From front to back the room was filled with joy and passion, one of the friendliest and most positive crowds we’ve ever been part of.

The crazy fact is that this was the first night of The Hunna’s tour, one of many sold out shows they have coming over the next couple of weeks. So if this is where they’re starting ? We cannot imagine the heights this tour and these guys could reach. Seeing The Hunna live reminded us of how it felt just before the likes of Lower Than Atlantis and Royal Blood exploded; that feeling like, there is something special here and you can honestly see The Hunna going in exactly the same direction, onward and upwards. Keep your eyes peeled.
