Frank Iero - New Album

Frank Iero And The Future Violents - New Album: Barriers, Live Session & Tour News

Out now with new album Barriers, yet again Frank Iero has reinvented himself. Just as what has gone before, a new album brings a new “backing band” and a new sound. If frnkiero and the cellabration were the Stephen King inspired Gothic Punk solo project, and Frank Iero and the Patience were the pure Hardcore project, then Frank Iero and the Future Violents are his attempt at tackling something akin to Classic Rock.

It isn’t a tone you would instantly associate with Iero, but then again what is the Frank Iero sound? It is in essence undefinable, as it is constantly changing and progressing, and this is what we love about Frank. ‘Barriers’ is certainly something different, really set apart to past records, this is a grown up Iero. The fast paced Hardcore from the last album have gone and been replaced with a more mature sound. The album doesn’t hook you as quick as, but boy does it build and grow. ‘Barriers’ is a timeless album, it has the ability to cement Iero as a bonafide solo superstar.

Frank has also released a brand new cellar session, the audio for the session was mixed by none other than Frank’s former bandmate, Ray Toro. This marks the first collaboration between the two since MCR’s dissolution in 2013. Check out the one on one session below:

Frank Iero and The Violents will be touring with Laura Jane Grace And The Devouring Mothers in the UK this August, and you can also catch Frank at Godiva Festival & 2000 Trees in July.
