DZ DEATHRAYS Release Riotous New Single
feat. Matt Caughthran of THE BRONX ‘Year of The Dog (feat. Matt Caughthran)’ Out Now

Fresh from wrapping a mammoth headline European tour, DZ Deathrays have dropped the second taste of their forthcoming album Positive Rising: Part 1, which is scheduled for release on Friday 30th August 2019 through Alcopop! Records (UK) and I OH YOU.

Teaming up with The Bronx frontman Matt Caughthran, who adds his distinctive scream to proceedings, new single ‘Year Of The Dog (feat. Matt Caughthran)’ is a pedal-to-the-metal thrash-party riot.

The band also recently revealed a run of UK headline tour dates for October 2019 (see below for listings) as well as a huge run of Jan/Feb 2020 EU tour dates supporting classic rock saviours The Darkness.

“Matt from The Bronx—one of our all-time favourite bands—drove an hour from his house, came into the vocal booth and nailed his part on, like, the first go,” laughs guitarist and vocalist Shane Parsons when speaking about the collaboration. “I felt bad for making him drive so far. But it was also just a showcase of how good a vocalist he is…and that was unreal for me, because now with Lachlan in the band, I’ve been trying to approach things from a vocalist’s perspective, and it shows you how hard you’ve got to work.”

After many years of being fans of The Bronx and getting to play shows with them along the way, DZ Deathrays had always hoped to collaborate with Caughthran at some stage. Recording Positive Rising: Part 1 in L.A. with Miro Mackie (St. Vincent, Cold War Kids, Hatchie), the band saw it as the perfect opportunity to get Californian local Matt on a track.

We’ve always been huge fans of The Bronx!” enthuses Parsons. “We were in L.A. recording with Miro and thought this would be perfect timing to get Matt on a DZ track…and bloody glad we did!”
